Steal This Look: A Very Autumnal Supper

Since we first shared it, we’ve returned to the scene of one particular supper staged by Natalie Jones’s design shop in the UK (see Bringing in the Sheaves: Harvest Table Inspiration from Caro of Somerset). Inspired by a windswept walk through the forest and onto the beach,” as Natalie told us, the setting is complete with a dramatic bundle of grasses hanging like a chandelier above the table.


Though the DIY hanging bough is a project, many of the other pieces are surprisingly simple. Here’s how to get the look, just in time for Thanksgiving.

Decor


Above: By all means, make your own arrangement if you can. An at-the-ready (and decidedly more minimal) option is the Golden Fields Wheat Wreath, $95 from Slow Roads.


Soft Goods


Above: The washed linen tablecloth is, surprisingly, a budget find from H&M Home. For something similar, try the Linen Blend Tablecloth, $49.99. (A canvas drop cloth would also do well in a pinch.)

Serveware & Glassware



Above: The original dishes are from Dutch brand HK Living. A good lookalike? Anthropologie’s Jasper Portuguese Stoneware. A set of four side plates in white (left) is $56; a set of four dinner plates in “mist” (right) is $64.
Above: The flatware is a mix of two Hay designs: Everyday and Sunday. The stainless steel Sunday Spoon is available from Connox, £36 for five; pieces of Everyday Flatware can be found via The Modern Shop.
Above: As for the “river” of glassware down the center of the table? The duo chose Chai Glasses, £4 each from Bailey’s Home, for their watery color. (Another option? The pale green Amina Recycled Tumbler Glasses, $67 for a set of six from The Citizenry.)


Details


Above: Atop each plate: not miniature hay bales but tiny bristled scrubbers. The Escobeta Root Brush is $7 from Tienda Salsita (“Escobetas de raiz are traditional Latin American dish scrubbers made from zacaton roots,” according to the retailer. “They’re gentle on dishes but do an amazing job of scrubbing.”)
