Steal This Look: A Shaker-Style Mudroom and Laundry in New Hampshire

A while back we featured a Shaker-inspired summer retreat in New Hampshire with interiors by Portland, Maine-based Heidi Lachapelle. The clients, a young and active family, were looking for functional spaces while welcoming color and pattern. Lachapelle delivered as seen in the mudroom and laundry spaces of the house, two rooms often overlooked become the feature with warm rustic elements, olive paint, and floral accents. Here we list the key ingredients that make up the look.

Above: “The clients wanted the home to function well for children and have storage for all kinds of lake-related items and fun summer activities,” says Lachapelle of the custom storage cabinets.
