Game Night-Ready Table Linens, Three Ways
Here’s (one of) my intentions for this year: more game nights. I’m not going to be fussy about it—there will be no cleaning the baseboards beforehand. Come as you are for some whipped-up pasta or popcorn and a round of cards.
Funny enough, here on the Remodelista team we’ve been noting, with amusement, tablecloths and linens that are primed and ready for just such an occasion. They’re patterned with usable checkers, chess, and backgammon boards, so all you need to do is push aside the dishes and get to playing. (Unless you want to play Clue. There’s not a tablecloth for that yet.)
Here are three we like.
Above: Julie spotted the Agazia Backgammon Tablecloth and Napkins (€295), made in Rome from deadstock fabric. According to the makers: “ If we’re not allowed to play with our food, then we might as well play next to our food.” We agree.
Above: Two offerings from Amuse La Bouche: the Chess Tea Towel and the Snakes & Ladders Tea Towel ($46 each).
Above: Date night? Zara Home’s Cotton Linen Chess Tablecloth is a compelling reason to stay in ($119).
P.S. If you’re good, or even passable, with an embroidery needle, this could make a good DIY project to stitch away at—let us know if you give it a try.
