Steal This Look: A Sweet Dining Space at Café Petiole

“Prettiest dining space we’ve seen in a while?” Julie wrote recently. “Café Petiole, a recently opened plant-forward cafe in London’s Somerset House, designed by London and Milan-based Duelle Studio.” The candy-colored palette makes it particularly romantic for Valentine’s month; here, we take a closer look at the details (and similar sources, so you can get the look at home).
Above: Micaela Nardella and Melanie Liaw of Duelle worked with eco paint company Coat Paints on the interiors, creating custom shades for the walls, trim, and bentwood chairs and tables.
Above: A closer look at the counter (complete with faux painted marble fronts). See the full story at Pretty in Pink: Café Petiole in Somerset House, London.

Paint and Palette

Above: The buttery yellow on the walls is a bespoke color from Coat Paints. For a similar hue, try Dayroom Yellow by Farrow & Ball.
Above: The blue trim is also custom, but Backdrop’s Skywalker paint is a similar pale shade.
Above: The cafe seating is made up of mismatched bentwood chairs and tables (more on that later), done over in a custom dusty rose color by Coat Paints. For a similar shade, consider the brand’s Mrs. Bouquet colorway, shown here. Or: “Fancy recreating this color palette?,” asks Coat Paints. “Get in touch with our customer experience team quoting ‘Somerset House’ to shop these bespoke colors.”

Soft Goods

Above: The deep coral pleated curtain that skirts the table is from London-based Loual Studio, made from Irish linen. You can order something custom from Loual—or, for a lookalike, there’s the Rusty Linen Sink Skirt, $91 from Sand Snow Linen.

Furniture

Above: Thonet-esque bentwood chairs are widely available, both vintage and new. The Freya Brentwood Bistro Chair shown here, for example, is $160 from RestaurantFurniture.com. (For a similar look to Cafe Petiole, give it a makeover in pink paint.)
Above: The Mosco Bistro Table is $399 from West Elm.

Lighting

Above: The handmade Peony Pendants are by Herefordshire-based Colin Chetwood; £175 each.
Above: The Barden Taper Table Lamp is $369 from Rejuvenation.

Accessories

Above: The Lucielle Wood Frame Mirror is currently on sale for $509 from Rejuvenation.
Above: The Hillcrest Serving Bowl from Soho House is no longer available, but the White Marble Ruffle Bowl from Arhaus is a good lookalike; $299.
